Nissan Teases New Sedan Concept for Tokyo Motor Show

nThough we will not see it in the American market, it is always intriguing to observe the automotive design trends of foreign consumers. There are occasions when these overseas concepts don’t exactly suit our tastes; however, there have been reveals that make us green with envy – sorry for the cliché, but we couldn’t resist “green” on St. Patrick’s Day.

Nissan is often the automaker that does the latter. It unveils concept cars that make us feel compelled to petition its executives to bring them to American showrooms. Based on pictures of Nissan’s New Sedan Concept – listen, Nissan spends its time perfecting engineering and designing concepts, not naming them – we can tell the Japanese car manufacturer will once again tease us with a desirable foreign model.

Beneath a gossamer robe, the Nissan New Sedan Concept’s headlights, V-shaped grille, and badge are the only perceptible characteristics. The rest will be revealed when it officially debuts at the Beijing Motor show on April 20, 2014.

Nissan chose this particular motor show because the new concept is marketed for young, technologically savvy Chinese buyers. Its design was borne from a collaboration of the automaker’s design hubs in China and Japan, which was spearheaded by Chief Creative Officer Shiro Nakamura. As industry experts have noted, from what can be seen, this model closely resembles the Sport Sedan Concept displayed at the 2014 Detroit Auto Show.

To further discuss the current concept and previous ones, here is a video of executive design director Mamoru Aoki:
